The HP Poly Voyager Free wireless earbuds 60 series will be an excellent choice if you are on business trips or work tethered with computers and smartphones.

These high-end, specially designed earbuds are ideal for office workers. Remote corporate workers can also benefit from a wealth of additional functionality to enhance their convenience.

No earpieces on the market can compete with all of the features packed into these small but well-fitting devices.

However, the cost is higher than most people are willing to pay out of pocket. If you want to be able to hear your phone calls or music all day, HP has a list of compelling reasons for plugging in a pair.

Pricing and Purchasing

Some users feel that the performance of the Poly Voyager Free60+ UC premium product, which includes a touchscreen charging case and other features, is worth the $329.95 price tag.

These earbuds are available in two versions, offering excellent performance but with fewer features. Prices start at $229.95.

Starting at a low price, you can get the Poly Voyager Free 60 with its standard charging case and premium features for music and calls. The unit is designed to be dependable for “prosumers,” as HP refers to them.

These earbuds are available at B&H Photo as well as other online retailers.

Search carefully for this product. It was listed on Amazon and other places under the Plantronics brand. According to the product description and price, listings not HP-branded appear to be older models rather than HP’s latest release.

HP purchased Poly in August last year and rebranded new releases but retained the Poly moniker. The Poly moniker is found on the charger cases and the Poly app.

The Poly Voyager Free 60, with enterprise-grade audio features and a standard charging case, can be purchased for $279.95. This version has been Microsoft Teams/Zoom certified and is designed for enterprise users.

Premium Features Unmatched

The Poly Voyager Free 60 UC can reduce ambient noise that can interfere with both parties of a conversation during video or phone calls.

Active noise cancellation (ANC) reduces background noise when on the phone. This product reduces background sound during calls with active noise cancellation (ANC).

Transparency Mode is one of the options that lets you hear what’s around you without having to remove either earbud. When you remove an earbud from your device, the music will stop.

The AI-driven NoiseBlock circuitry, six microphones, and stem design have resulted in a high standard voice production.

Users can stay connected to two devices at once using multi-point connectivity. The technology pairs phones as Phone One and Phone Two even if the other device is a computer or speakerphone.

Smart Charge Case Offers More

The unique charging case is another benefit of the Voyager Free UC earpieces. The three Voyager models all come with charging cases that can charge wirelessly and have Qi charging capability.

The Free 60+ UC goes far beyond this limited functionality. The smart charging case features a color touchscreen with three control panels to customize configurations and control earbuds.

The charging case is powered by a USB cord that can be connected to a computer or wall plug. The case can be wirelessly controlled when the earbuds are being used to show the status of the battery, the listening settings, and the volume.

The case allows you to easily switch between devices. You can connect external audio sources to the case via the 3.5 analog audio input.

Intelligent Design

The oval design of the earbuds and three sizes of rubberized ear shields provide added comfort. The tips have been designed to reduce pressure on the ear and provide superior audio isolation.

For extended use, you can insert both pieces into either ear. You can use one earpiece for long-term listening while the other charges in the case.

With ANC enabled the earbuds can provide up to 5.5 hours of talk time. The usage time increases if you don’t need ANC.

The smart charger case offers up to 16 extra hours of talk time. It also comes with a USB port for charging on the move. The case includes a BT700 Bluetooth Adapter to enhance functionality.

The included USB-C cable to a 3.5mm audio plug allows you to connect the charging case to almost any modern device. You can then use the earphones anywhere a physical connection instead of wireless connectivity is needed.

The USB receiver dongle tricks the host computer into pairing the earbuds without opening up the computer’s Bluetooth stack. This results in a smoother user experience than built-in Bluetooth.

Long Stem Function

The Poly Voyager Free series 60 earbuds are longer than other wireless ear devices. The oval-shaped tip increases comfort and makes inserting and removing the earpieces easier.

The small button on the stems lets you play or pause music and answer calls. Press and hold the button for two seconds to activate Google Assistant.

Each stem has a touch sensor in the middle. You can change the volume by swiping up and down.

Learning how to use the swiping gesture to activate the features took me some time. I also did not find it intuitive to use this motion with the tiny lower button.

App Power Handy

The Poly Lens app is available on Google Play and App Store. You can use only the earbuds and get an excellent out-of-the-charge-box user experience.

It was no less convenient to use my smartphone for additional settings. The same applies to using smartphone apps for settings on my smartwatch and smart TV remote control.

The app is required to update the software for the earpieces, and the smart charger case, and access detailed configuration options for setting up your earbuds to your preferences. The app offers a variety of sliders and toggles that allow you to adjust every decibel or frequency in order to optimize your productivity and enjoyment.

Enhanced Communication Features

The sidetone technology allows you to hear how loud you’re speaking. My boisterous voice projection from my first days of public speaking class never left me. This feature allows me to avoid straining my voice.

The earbuds have a large microphone area, so the user can choose their preferred wearing position.

Poly Voyager Free 60 Series Wireless Earbuds come in White Sand and Carbon Black.
